Colleague Activities

From their themed-night Christmas parties and summer barbecues, to the good-natured “150 Challenges” and hockey games, you will have many opportunities to have fun with your colleagues.

Why not join the “One Hit Wonders” baseball team for some real hard-hitting action where there is never a dull moment.

In addition to the social activities you’ll be able to take part in with your colleagues, the communities of both Winkler (pop. 10, 670) & Morden (pop. 7, 812) boast many social activities and fun events that you and your family can take part in as well.

Community Activities

If sports is what you’re interested in, there are many baseball, golf, curling and hockey recreational and competitive leagues that you can take part in. The Morden Triathlon is a very well-known and successful event every year, and don’t forget about volleyball, pickle ball, badminton, taekwondo, cricket, yoga, the list really does go on and on.

There are also many great kid’s programs such as “Kids of Steel” running club, the Barracudas swim team as well as Shadow Valley Raceway for the Evel Knievel’s out there. In addition to this, there are also many local youth groups both faith-based as well as Scouts, Cubs, Beavers, Cadets and Brownies.

If sports isn’t your thing, then how about going on a fossil dig adventure with the Canadian Fossil Discovery Centre or trying your hand at Geo Caching. For film enthusiasts, there’s Landmark Cinema in Winkler as well as the Stardust Drive-In Theatre in Morden. Don’t forget in the summer months to check out the Winkler Harvest Festival and Morden’s Corn & Apple Festival.

Check out the websites for both the City of Winkler and City of Morden for full details on any of the above mentioned activities.
